Simon Hart MP is pictured in a Challenger tank with a member of the 1st Royal Tank Regiment during a behind-the-scenes tour of Castlemartin Army Range.

The trip was part of his work with the Armed Forces Parliamentary Service which aims to give MPs an insight of life in the Forces.

"The range is in constant use by different parts of the Army and when I visited the 1st Royal Tank Regiment were on exercise," said Mr Hart.

"We were shown the tanks, watched a live firing exercise and met the officers and soldiers. We also spent some time with civilian staff discussing accommodation and living standards. Castlemartin plays a vital role for the British Army because it is one of the few places where soldiers can train using live ammunition, a crucial aspect of their preparations"
