Simon Hart MP is pictured with members of the PE department from Whitland's Ysgol Dyffryn Taf - winners of the Outstanding Team of the Year award at the teaching "Oscars."

Pictured outside the House of Commons with Mr Hart is (l to r) headteacher Robert Newsome and Dylan Blain and Graham Evans from the PE department.

They are part of the team of seven teachers who won the gold Plato in the prestigious Pearson Teaching Awards. They were nominated for the award by former pupil Dan Newton who is now a professional rugby player.

"This is a tremendous achievement by the team at Dyffryn Taf, the brilliance of the school's sports teaching has been highlighted by having two former pupils playing for Wales at the World Cup in New Zealand and it's great that they've now been recognised in this way."
