Superfast broadband could soon be on its way to Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire thanks to a £57 million Government grant.
Local MP Simon Hart has welcomed the announcement that Wales is to get a £56.93 million hand out to help it improve broadband speeds.
"Unfortunately our area is one of the worst in the country for broadband speeds – 44.9% of us are in low speed areas, making it one of the top 10 worst constituencies in the UK," he said.
"The amount of grant for Wales was calculated on the basis of need but the Welsh Assembly Government now needs to match this funding to enable us to get broadband nationwide and superfast broadband to 90% of the country.
"Being able to get broadband is essential in this day and age and poor coverage is one of the main gripes that I get in my mailbag. The Government is committed to getting 90% of households on superfast broadband by 2015."
The grant to Wales has been made out of the government's £530m broadband investment fund.
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport hopes that the private sector will take superfast broadband to about two-thirds of UK households and businesses, while public money is being used to help take broadband to the remaining one third.
