South Pembrokeshire MP, Simon Hart said:

"I have just received confirmation that Valero has agreed to buy the Chevron refinery at Pembroke. This is excellent news for the 600 people who work there and who have been concerned about their future since the refinery was put up for sale last March.

"I understand that Valero is one of North America's largest independent refining companies and they intend to continue refining at the Pembroke site.

"This is great news for the county and I shall be meeting the new purchasers to discuss their plans as soon as possible."
