John Starzewski, Managing Director of Magstim UK, was the only Welsh business representative at the business breakfast briefing at No 10 Downing Street last week.
His company employs 65 people and makes transcranial magnetic nerve stimulators that are used in brain research around the world.
"I was one of about 18 business leaders from all over the UK and we had two hours with Mr Cameron, Mr Osborne and the Business Minister Mark Prisk," said Mr Starzewski.
"We discussed the problems that small and medium sized businesses face when they are starting up, as well as in their early days and during their growth stages.
"Ideas such as business angels being used instead of risk-averse banks, the value of interns and work experience placements and the problems created by employment laws were all discussed.
"I was delighted to be given this unique opportunity and to take the issues facing businesses in West Wales to the very top."
Local MP Simon Hart, who helped set up the meeting, said: "I am delighted that the Prime Minister and the Chancellor chose a Whitland business to take part in these important discussions. Who better for them to listen to than those at the sharp end?"
