Local MP Simon Hart is pictured raising a glass to the success of British Pub Week.
The week, which runs from October 30th to November 6, aims to unite everyone in celebrating local pubs.
Mr Hart has raised the plight of pubs in Westminster by asking a parliamentary question to find out the latest figures on closures of urban pubs.
"I am a great supporter of both urban and rural pubs as I believe they play a vital role in our economy and communities," he said,
"Pub Week is a great way to keep the great British pub tradition alive – our pubs are the envy of the world and we should keep this unique part of our cultural heritage alive.
"The Office for National Statistics says that the latest figures available show that nearly 7,500 pubs across the UK closed in 2008 which is a worryingly high figure."
Local pubs that are taking part in pub week include the Alpha Inn in Tavernspite and The Station House in Whitland.
At The Station House they are hosting events every night of pub week, including a jamming session, a fashion show, a casino night and a bonfire party.
"We are having a lady-friendly night to show women that it's okay to come to the pub on your own or just with girlfriends and not to feel intimidated," said landlady Sue Adams.
"We just want to encourage more people to come to the pub, it's not all about drinking but about socialising, food and being part of the community."
