Local MP Simon Hart is highlighting a monthly support and advice session for cancer sufferers and their families in Pembrokeshire.
The Thorne Mason Trust was set up by Mike Mason from Crundale and his wife Debi in 2007 after Mike was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
The charity aims to help local people affected by cancer, fund research into brain cancer and eventually hopes to open its own complementary cancer care centre.
Sadly Mike died in November 2009 but Debi continues the work of the charity and wants to draw attention to their monthly get togethers on the outskirts of Haverfordwest.
"We try to offer everything free for people who are suffering from cancer or their friends and family," explained Debi.
"We meet on the first Thursday of every month at Crundale community centre between 10am and 1pm.
"We have a lending library, information booklets people can have, free complementary therapies and we hope to offer music and art therapy too."
Debi has explained her concerns about the lack of research into and funding for brain cancers to South Pembrokeshire MP Simon Hart.
"Debi and her team of volunteers are doing a wonderful job, not just working to raise awareness and money for a relatively overlooked cancer, but also helping anyone who suffers from cancer in the county," he said.
"I would urge anyone who feels they need a helping hand while they are affected by cancer to contact the charity."
Debi added: "My dream is for there to be a big step forward in finding a cure for brain tumours. There has been so much advancement with other cancers through all the research, so there is no reason why it can't be the same for brain tumours."
The free cancer support sessions run on the first Thursday of every month at Crundale Community Centre from 10am to 1pm, contact Debi on 01437 766011 or check out www.thornemasontrust.com for more information.
