South Pembrokeshire MP Simon Hart has welcomed Pembrokeshire County Council's decision to throw out plans for a supermarket on the edge of Narberth.
Plans for the 10,000 sq metre supermarket on the former Brains Brewery site in Narberth were refused by the council on Tuesday.
Mr Hart has been opposed to the development from the outset.
"This was the wrong store, in the wrong place, in the wrong town," said Mr Hart who lives near the Narberth. "I am delighted that the council has decided to reject the plans.
"Narberth's success as a shopping destination relies on its unique shops, character and charm – something that having a big brand supermarket on the edge of town would have spoilt."
