Local MP Simon Hart has taken farmer's concerns over the level of red tape to the highest level.
He's lobbied Agriculture Minister Jim Paice after hearing from farmers in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire that they are at breaking point over the bureaucratic burden.
"Just last week another farmer contacted me to complain about the incredible complexity of the Single Farm Payment forms," said Mr Hart.
"Farmers have to spend hours every day dealing with red tape such as cattle passports and grant forms. I'm sure that the whole system could be made much simpler leaving farmers to get on with more important things."
Mr Hart asked a parliamentary question to find out what was being done to reduce the burden.
"I have been told by Agriculture Minister Jim Paice that his department is very aware of the need to reduce red tape and that the Task Force on Farm Regulation, which was appointed in July, is considering how to reduce regulatory burdens."
Mr Paice added: "The Task Force will consider all regulation that bears on farmers, including hill farmers, and has started a wide consultation to understand which issues cause farmers most concern."
