Local MP Simon Hart is encouraging Second World War veterans and their widows to apply for Lottery grants to help them revisit the places where they saw active service.
The Heroes Return scheme provides funding for WW2 veterans and their widows to travel to and stay at the place where they served.
It also helps fund trips to take part in official UK commemorations and can provide retrospective funding for those who've already undertaken such journeys.
So far 10,000 people have been awarded a total of £7 million funding for trips to countries including Italy, Japan, Australia and France. But the scheme comes to an end on January 31 2011.
"I think this is a wonderful Lottery scheme that rewards the most deserving people in society," said Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire MP Simon Hart.
"I would encourage anyone who knows a Second World War veteran to let them know about the availability of this funding."
