UP, UP AND AWAY – South Pembrokeshire MP Simon Hart is pictured launching a balloon race from the Plash Inn in Llanfallteg to raise money for sensory equipment for the local school.
Pub landlady Christie Goymer (pictured in pink) came up with the idea to raise money for Ysgol Bro Brynach in Llanboidy.
"My youngest son Ioan, who has Down's Syndrome, is starting at the school in September and we wanted to get some specialist equipment to help the school," said Mrs Goymer.
She and her husband Steve held a Beer Festival at the pub with the proceeds from the bouncy castle, the balloon race, the barbecue and a "Guess the Mystery Guest" competition all going towards the £1,600 needed for the equipment.
Mr Hart, who was Sunday's mystery guest, said: "The Plash is everything a good local pub should be and I was delighted to help out the Goymers. "They work so hard to keep their pub a vibrant part of the community and I wish them all the best luck for their fundraising campaign."
